Kate has received numerous awards and other accolades during her career. Chief among these are three Nebulas and two Hugos.

Solstice Award (2009) Presented by the Science FIction Writers of America for her lifetime contribution to the field of science fiction.



Kate was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame (2003) for her lifetime contribution to the genre.
